Early today, LIB shared a post about a hot clap back on Nigerian twitter. Here's what happened... A young man, @pabloadedeji, took a lady he met on social media out on a date to watch a movie in the cinemas (reportedly in Ibadan). She however wasn't interested in a relationship just yet and this pissed him off when he found out after the date. He took to twitter ranting about the money he spent, calling her a 'broke ass hungry bitch'. She responded by transferring all the money he spent during the movie date to his bank account and told him to keep the change. Lol (See here here) Her response broke the internet and has been trending all day. As Nigerians dragged him, brands began to endorse and give out free gifts to the lady for being independent enough to respond in such a smart manner. He has now apologized for the tweets. FG summons Indian high commissioner to Nigeria over recent attacks on Nigerian students in India

The Federal government has summoned the Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Nagabashana Reddy, over the recent attacks on Nigerian students studying in the countrty. Recall that some Nigerian students on Monday sustained severe injuries after a group of locals attacked them in Pari Chowk, Noida.The permanent secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sola Enikanolaiye who called for the meeting, expressed displeasure over the recent attacks. "This is not the first time this would happened; Nigerians have suffered similar attack in the past; so, what we will like to see on this occasion is that the perpetrator should be arrested. And we want to see diligent prosecution so that it would serve as a deterrent to those who think they can take laws into their hands and harass students who are going about their studies"he said The Indian High Commissioner apologised for the attacks and said that the Indian government have taken concrete steps to address the incident and also promised that those who perpetrated the act would be made to face the law. "The government is determined to see that justice is done” the High Commissioner said

Doctors in Mexico are finally set to operate on the World's heaviest man who has been confined to his bed for six years. Juan Pedro Franco, who once weighed more than half a ton at 595 kilos will undergo the gastric bypass surgery on the 9th of May, 2017.'He has lost nearly 30 per cent of his initial weight, so he is ready to undergo the bariatric surgery,' Dr. Jose Antonio Castaneda Cruz said. Franco was removed from his home via a specially-adapted van for the first time in six years last November and taken to a clinic 100 miles away in Guadalajara. The 32-year-old, from Aguascalientes in Mexico, who has type 2 diabetes, and was initially told that he'd never walk again, is said to be almost as obese as Mexican man Manuel Uribe - who was once considered the world's fattest man before he died in 2014.However, Franco noted there were other people trapped in their homes like him. 'Some have passed away perhaps from sadness, or because they don’t dare (to) ask for help.' he said

Former NFL star, Michael Irvin being investigated for alleged sexual assault

NFL commentator and former player, Micheal Irvin is being investigated for sexually assaulting a woman at a Florida hotel. In a police report filed by a 27-year-old Florida woman. She claims she and Irvin were at a bar in the early morning hours of March 21 and then returned to his hotel room at the W Fort Lauderdale. The woman says they were in Michael's room when she began to feel sick. She says the last thing she remembers is fighting him off. She says when she woke up he was about to check out, leaving her behind. She took an Uber home and called 911 at 7:30 AM. She told cops she feared she was drugged and raped. She was advised to go to a medical lab for a swab and a blood test, which she did, according to TMZ Reacting to the allegation, Irvin’s lawyer, Larry Friedman, denied the charge saying: ‘The allegations are completely false. ‘In the few hours since we’ve learned about them we’ve already discovered many red flags about this young woman’s background and the allegations she made against Michael. Even the complaint that she made specifically says she does not recall the events that took place. She was very drunk that night. Nothing happened and there was no assault.” He, however, revealed that Michael who in 2007 was accused of similar offense was in Fort Lauderdale visiting his nieces and nephews at a track meet. 'He was also visiting his 90-year-old aunt and attending her birthday party. He was blindsided by news of these allegations.’ Police are currently investigating the case.

"The last 4 years have been horrible" Nigerian doctor wrongly accused by patient speaks out after UK court overturned his suspension

A Nigerian doctor, who has been involved in a four-year ordeal after being accused of mistreating patients at a surgery has spoken of the effect the case has had on his family. Dr Abiodun Bale has been told by the Court of Appeal he was free to return to work after a top judge overturned his suspension on Monday, March 28th. Dr. Bale, who at the time lived in Moston, Manchester, was accused of behaving inappropriately after a female patient identified as Maria Hindle claimed he had grabbed her arm during a consultation and raised his voice to her at Hyndburn Medical Practice in Oswaldtwistle in 2013. The 45-year-old was training to be a GP at the Hyndburn Medical Practice in Acrington, when the allegations were first made in 2013. He was found guilty of assaulting the patient at Burnley Crown Court in 2014, but was later cleared of any wrongdoing following an appeal. However, he was suspended from practice for nine months by a Medical Practitioners' Tribunal Service (MPTS) panel iin July 2016. The panel concluded he had behaved inappropriately towards the woman and to a second female patient, and also lied during his trial. Mr Justice Collins told the court there had never been any criticism of Dr Bale’s skills as a doctor and that it would be wrong to take any further action against him. "I should say there is no indication that, before or since these events, he has behaved in any way which would be contrary to good practice as a doctor and there is no suggestion he is anything other than a competent practitioner." the judge added But, allowing his appeal and lifting his suspension, Mr Justice Collins ruled the panel was wrong to conclude his denial was “tantamount to perjury”. "The tribunal was indeed wrong to find that what he had done was dishonest, or that he had committed perjury before the criminal courts. In the circumstances of this case, having regard in particular to the suspension he has already served, it would be wrong to do other than take no action against him" But the Lagos-trained GP said a crown court trial, medical tribunals and the appeal have taken its toll on the wellbeing of himself and his wife and family. The doctor maintained his innocence throughout the various proceedings and has now been given the all-clear by the appeal courts to continue his carer. He no longer wants to be a GP but is a qualified specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology. "There have been great physical, psychological, social and financial consequences of this case for me. My family and I have been put through unwarranted misery. Nobody should have to go through this. "It is a wonderful concept in civilised societies like ours to protect patients, but somebody should also be looking out for doctors who have unfortunately found themselves in situations like mine." He believes he has been 'let down by the system' as well as having to pay a heavy price financially to re-establish his right to practice. But he is glad 'commons sense' prevailed in the end. Dr Bale added: “The last four years have been a horrible ordeal professionally and the last eight months have been unspeakably stressful for my wife, kids, our extended families and for me"

Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) gives Federal Government July 2017 Ultimatum

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) wants the Federal Government to pay the outstanding arrears of its members not later than July 2017. The National President of the union, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, stated this during a news conference at the University of Abuja yesterday where he said the Federal Government is owing academics in federal universities unpaid allowances of not less than N128 billion. “In view of this, the union rose from its NEC meeting at the Bayero University Kano observing that the particular issue of EAA cannot be meaningfully addressed unless within an agreed framework. Hence the National Executive Council (NEC) of ASUU resolved that all outstanding arrears of EAA should be paid not later than July 2017. “The decision of ASUU-NEC on the issue has since been communicated to the Minister of Education, Senate President and the Chairman, Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFund,’’ he said.

Outrage as Islamic cleric allergedly broadcasts porn through Mosque speakers in Turkey

A Turkish mayor in Kuzeykent, an area of Kastamonu is currently investigating some Muslim officials after an audio sound from a pornographic movie was broadcasted at a mosque for early morning prayers. Members of the Kuzekent mosque who were used to hearing 'Allahu Akbar' were left shocked when they heard raunchy moaning from the public speakers at about 1am on March 22nd 2017. A witness in the Kuzeykent neighborhood of Kastamonu captured a 53-second video of the loudspeakers, as they played what appeared to be the audio from a pornographic film at a loud volume. An outrage which has since become a trending topic on social media. Tahsin Babas, the Mayor of the city, through his Facebook issued a statement where he said the indecent provocation was going to be thoroughly investigated. Man allegedly kills his girlfriend, injures three of her relatives then shoots at two strangers

A Florida man has been arrested for a shooting that left his girlfriend dead and five others injured, including a teenage girl waiting for the school bus. Allen Cashe, 31, shot his girlfriend on Monday following a dispute at her home shortly after 6 a.m. The verbal argument escalated to a physical fight and the police were called in to intervene. A few hours before the shooting, a Sanford police officer had to separate the couple as they were fighting at a gas station but that was not the end of their fight. Less than an hour later, police received another call about the couple quarreling. An officer got there and gathered that they were arguing over personal possessions. The officer also learned that Cashe had a gun but the officer did not see one so he simply separated them and asked Cashe to go home. Not long after the officer left, Cashe allegedly opened fire on his girlfriend's residence, killing her and injuring her two sons and her father. The boys and their grandfather are in a critical condition in hospital. Cashe ran away after shooting and as he did he shot randomly, hitting two random people - a man and a high school-aged female. A Sanford police officer who was close by heard the second shooting and spotted Cashe's car. He followed Cashe's car to a nearby apartment complex, where he arrested him. Police said they found a gun in his vehicle. Formal charges have not been filed against Cashe. However, authorities will likely lodge “multiple” criminal counts against him before he is arraigned later this week, a Sanford police spokeswoman said. Cashe remains behind bars without bail.

I have killed 18 people- 17 year old Boko Haram suspect confesses

17 year old Boko Haram suspect, Ali Mustafa, Tuesday confessed to have killed 18 people since he was forced to join the terror group three years ago. Ali confessed to the crime when he was paraded by men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC). Ali told newsmen that himself and other young boys were abducted from Konduga after an attack carried out by the group. He said during his stay with the group, he was trained in the use of assault rifles and other dangerous weapons which he used to execute his victims. “I was forced to join Boko Haram about three years ago. Boko Haram insurgents came to our village and forcefully took many of us away. We were kept in the bush camp near Kala Balge and from there we carried out various operations, during which I personally killed 18 persons. I can handle all kinds of guns including AK-47 and AA (anti aircraft) rifle". Ali said he ran away from the group recently when himself and two others were sent to spy on the city for a possible attack. “I was tired of killing people against my wish, so I told my two other colleagues with whom we were asked to go on a spying mission that we should abandon the mission and run. So I came to Maiduguri to search for my parents in the camps. But some IDPs who knew me as member of Boko Haram decided to report me to the security people" he said.

Police detective arrested for masturbating in child’s window

An NYPD detective has been arrested for allegedly masturbating while peering in a child's window. Det. Robert Francis was arrested at 2:30 am on Sunday after allegedly standing in a Rockville Centre backyard, peering into a home and masturbating. Francis who confessed to peering at women for about a year is being charged with four counts of public lewdness, a misdemeanor and three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor since three of the victims were under 16 and one was 17, as well as trespassing. Francis who works in the 71st precinct in Crown Heights has been suspended by the NYPD with his firearm seized.

Obasanjo reveals how he built a church while in prison and won souls for God

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has revealed how God made him build a church during his incarceration at Yola Prison and later won the souls of several inmates including a notorious robber/murderer who later became a pastor with Baptist church. Speaking at the Shepherdhill Baptist Church in Lagos, last Sunday, during a Thanksgiving Service to mark his 80th birthday, Obasanjo called on Nigerians to work for God no matter the circumstances they find themselves. “One, God made me to build a church,” Mr. Obasanjo said. “It’s very unusual, I asked the authorities for land, they were reluctant, but eventually they gave me land and immediately we started getting donations. “It was started before I left Yola. Wherever you are, you can still be useful to the work of God.” Obasanjo said he also got approval from prison authorities to farm while in detention and he cultivated “enough beans to feed all the inmates and warders.” When he was transferred to the Kirikiri Prison in Lagos, Mr. Obasanjo said he became the prison pastor and won several souls for God. "There was a boy whom they had introduced to me, his nickname was Baba Ali,” the former president said. “Baba Ali was the head of the armed robbers in the North. And if you were an armed robber and you came to prison, you must first of all go and pay homage to him. If you were going out, you must go to him and ask for instruction on what to do next. “So I called Baba Ali one day and said, ‘You are not coming to fellowship, I want you to be coming to the fellowship.’ And he said, ‘Baba, don’t worry me, don’t worry me at all because God can never forgive me. I have killed so many people in my life, I have drunk the blood of so many people, I have eaten the flesh of so many people and God will never forgive me, so don’t waste your time about me.'” Mr. Obasanjo said he left Baba Ali for a while, and then returned later to continue his evangelism. “I went back and said, ‘Baba Ali, you know all you said that you are a murderer, whether you killed only one person or a thousand people, you are a murderer; but you have forgotten that Moses was a murderer but God used him to bring the people of Israel out of Egypt? “David was a murderer but God called him a man after my heart. By the time I was leaving the prison, I told Baba Ali that if he was able to make it and he would like to go to Bible school, I would send him to Bible school.” Baba Ali was released from prison two years after Mr. Obasanjo, the former president said, by which time he had been elected Nigeria’s president. “It took him two years to get through to me, when he got to me, I reminded him of our agreement and he said he was ready to go to the Bible school. “So I sent him to the seminary, Baba Ali spent two years in the seminary. Sambisa Memorial Day: Gov. Shettima declares December 22 public holiday in Borno

Beginning from 2017, December 22 of every year is to be marked as Sambisa Memorial Day which will be public holiday in Borno State for the purpose of remembering victims of Boko Haram insurgents, the victory recorded by the Nigerian Military, and the remembrance of fallen soldiers and volunteers who sacrificed their lives fighting Boko Haram since 2009 in different parts of Borno State. Borno Governor, Kashim Shettima announced this on Monday inside the Sambisa Forest at the opening of the Nigerian Army Small Arms Championship which is currently holding at the Forest that used to be taken over from insurgents. Shettima said December 22 was chosen for the annual public holiday because it was on December 22, 2016 that the Nigerian Armed Forces took over the Sambisa Forest from Boko Haram insurgents after a tough battle. The Governor also announced his plans to seek partnership with the Federal Ministry of Defence and the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture to collaborate in building a National Museum and Research institution in Borno State that would collate all de-classified information, materials recovered by the military in relation to the fight against the insurgents to document history of insurgents, their victims, fallen soldiers and relevant materials in order to preserve lessons learnt from the crisis and to attract local and foreign tourists. "The Borno State Government will from this year, begin to declare the 22nd December of every year, as SAMBISA MEMORIAL DAY. This day which will be marked as public holiday in Borno State, for the purpose of celebrating the strength and victory of our armed forces; for the purpose of remembering victims of the Boko Haram insurgency and the families they left behind. And also, for the purpose of remembering members of the Nigerian Armed Forces and Volunteers who gave their lives in the course of fighting the Boko Haram in Borno State. The fall of Sambisa is both symbolic and memorable and this is why as a Government, we are taking steps to preserve the history behind the fall of Sambisa Forest and to spectacularly document the roles played by everyone from the Commander In Chief, our service chiefs, commanders of troops and our soldiers. Very soon, the Borno State Government will respectfully request for partnership with the Federal Ministry of Defence and the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture towards working together to construct a National Museum that we might call SAMBISA FALL & INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH CENTRE, for the purpose of documenting all de-classified information, to preserve valuable materials recovered by the military in relation to the fight against Boko Haram insurgency and to document history of the crisis from the days of the Taliban to Boko Haram. Importantly also, our aim is to document responses by successive political and military leadership and the eventual fall of Sambisa Forest under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. We hope that such a Museum will become a global custodian of information and valuable materials on issues relating to the Boko Haram and the role played by the Nigerian Military and multi national forces. We will propose that the museum should have A HALL OF FALLEN HEROES which should bear names and pictures of notable officers and men of the Nigerian Army, Air Force, Navy, Police, DSS, all para-military agencies, the civilian JTF and hunters who paid the supreme price in helping to free us from the Boko Haram. We will also propose that the Museum should have a HALL OF FAME to document the patriotic contributions of leaders like President Muhammadu Buhari, our current service chiefs, past and present military and other security heads and commanders of troops who meritoriously served within and outside the northeast in the fight against the Boko Haram. We will propose that the Museum should have a MEMORIAL HALL that would permanently bear names of notable civilians killed by insurgents. The whole idea is to preserve history so that we keep memories alive, so that we remember and salute our heroes and most importantly, for us and the future generation to learn from the unfortunate Boko Haram experience" Governor Shettima said. The Governor paid tribute to the armed forces for their successes in suppressing the Boko Haram noting the people of Borno State will remain indebted to all those who made contributions to addressing the Boko Haram crisis and it's effects. The Minister of Defence, General Mansur Mohammed Dan Ali represented President Muhammadu Buhari at the opening of the Championship. The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai hosted the event while National Assembly members in C‎ommittees dealing with the armed forces were also at the Sambisa Forest to mark the event.
