Certificate Of Return: Okorocha is on his own - APC throws Imo State Governor under the bus
The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday broke its silence on the fate of the embattled IMO State Governor, Rochas Okorocha who was denied Certificate of Return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Rochas Okorocha who has since been placed on indefinite suspension by the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee won the senatorial election to represent IMO West senatorial district in the National Assembly but has been involved in the battle of wits to secure his Certificate of Return.
Findings revealed that the Commission’s action may not be unconnected with the startling revelation of its Returning Officer for the Imo West senatorial election, Professor Innocent Ibeawuchi, who alleged that he was forced to declare Governor Rochas Okorocha the winner of the poll by the supporters of the All Progressives Congress candidate.
Speaking with newsmen yesterday at an interactive session, the party spokesman declared that having been suspended, Governor Okorocha ceased to be a member of the ruling party.
He said: “On the refusal of INEC to issue Certificate of Return to Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, who was announced the winner of the Imo West senatorial ticket, this party cannot take any action. Don’t forget that he is on suspension and as far as this party is concerned, that situation remains because there is no way we can say that somebody is on suspension and still go ahead to intervene in his case.
“In any case, he has not even come up to inform the party of his problem because he has realised that he is on suspension. Therefore, until it is vacated, the party will now step in to intervene as a party member who has a problem to resolve.”
Onilu further dismissed insinuation that the open declaration for candidates of African Action Congress in Rivers state by the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi amount to anti-party activities. He noted that the APC was precluded from contesting elections in Rivers by pronouncements of the Court.
He said: “On whether what Rotimi Amaechi did in Rivers governorship election amounted to anti-party activities, I will emphatically say no because if you liken it to the situation in Imo or Ogun states, it will be wrong. In Rivers State, APC does not have any candidate and as a party, Rivers State is very important to us. The state has been in the hands of pillagers for too long.
“If we have the opportunity of working with a party willing to abide by our principles, then it is within our right to work with such a party to ensure we free the people of Rivers State from the locust. In this case, he has not abandoned a particular candidate that belongs to the APC for a candidate of another party. They are entirely different issues and in that case, there is no anti-party. Whatever Amaechi has done is completely normal and acceptable to this party as far as working with other party is concerned.”

The dark days of impunity are gone for good - President Buhari
President Buhari has said the dark days of impunity are gone for good, assuring Nigerians that his administration will remain focused and committed to creating an inclusive and diversified economy.
Receiving the leadership of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS), led by Mr Obafemi Onashile, President Buhari, again, thanked Nigerians for clearly expressing their desire to move the nation forward.
‘‘Let me start by thanking you for your kind prayers,’’ the President told members of the Institute, who came to congratulate him on his re-election and pledge their solidarity with his administration. ‘‘Nigerians have clearly spoken of their desire for the country to move forward. On our part, we remain committed to the Change Agenda. By the grace of God, and with your continued prayers and support, the dark days of impunity are gone for good,’’ he added.
President Buhari used the occasion to highlight the administration’s achievements in stimulating the economy in the past three years, noting that growing the nation’s economy means ‘‘national growth must impact the silent majority.’’
‘‘This is why in the past three years; we focused on key job-creating sectors such as agriculture and infrastructure development.
‘‘You will all recall that our agriculture and infrastructure programmes contributed to our exit from recession. This is a clear example of how, if we push 'inclusive' job-creating policies, growth will follow.
‘‘We will remain committed to these and other programmes to ensure the success of our nation is felt by the majority of Nigerians,’’ he said.
On the incessant building collapses across the country, the President warned that those responsible for such incidents of professional negligence will feel the full wrath of the law. He told members of the Institute that the recent tragic incident in Lagos, and many others across the country, were reminder of the need to strictly adhere to quality standards on construction projects.
‘‘Young innocent lives must never be lost due to incompetence and greed. Simply put, no corners must be cut. I want to assure you that those responsible for such incidents of professional negligence will feel the full wrath of the law,’’ he said.
The President welcomed recommendations and suggestions from the Institute on how to enhance the construction industry, directing that they make a formal submission to the Minister of Power, Works and Housing as soon as possible.

Family of female lawyer who was murdered at a hotel in Ikeja issues official statement, demand answers from the police
The family of slain female lawyer, Feyisayo Obot who was killed in her hotel room in Ikeja, Lagos have just issued an official statement to set the records straight and demand answers from the police.
Already, the Lagos state command have arrested a murder suspect who allegedly snuffed the life out of the female lawyer in her hotel room in Opebi, Lagos state on January 26th this year. (Read HERE).
See the family's full statement below....
Our attention has been drawn to an article across news blogs about Mrs Feyisayo Obot’s murder. On behalf of the family of the deceased, there is a need to set the perspectives right.
This storyline is an outright misrepresentation of the truth and facts of our dear sister’s tragic cause of death. It is shocking for us as a family and particularly traumatising because this story was profiled as originating from the office of the Nigerian Police.
Feyisayo Obot a mother of two married to a very supportive man, she arrived Lagos from Abuja on 23rd January, 2019 to sit for her Project Management exams. She checked into Citiheights Hotel, 6 Sheraton Link Road, Opebi, Ikeja. Until her death she worked in the Abuja Office of Save the Children, an NGO as the National Administration Manager. She was billed to check out on 26th January 2019 and fly back to Abuja.Following their investigations the family was reliably informed by the Nigerian Police - SCIIB that it was a ‘hit job’, As a family, we were restrained from going public with our outcry because we had placed our trust and confidence in the commitment of the Nigerian Police and security agencies to bring justice to the family of the deceased.
Investigations by the police revealed that the murder suspect arrived the hotel and checked in as a guest a few hours after late Feyisayo checked-in. What a coincidence?
? How did the murder suspect know she was on her way to Lagos and the hotel she would be staying?
? What were his initial reasons for booking the same hotel?
? Why did he overstay?
? Why not check out when his time ran out?
? Is it normal to check into a hotel and then randomly kill someone when you just realised you had overstayed by 2 days?
According to the statement from the police, investigations revealed:
“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to have committed the crime. He said he has never met Ms Feyitayo Obot until the day he attacked her and that he was motivated to rob the deceased to enable him offset his hotel bill having spent two days above the one day he paid for.”
Some unanswered Questions:
How did he know the room to go to when it is on record that he was not staying on the same floor or even wing as the deceased?
It is on record that the suspect also works in a restaurant on Victoria Island. Wonder why he came to pay 30k a room for three nights (60k)?
? How come he was even accommodated by the hotel without a valid means of identification in the first place?
? Why did the hotel not insist on him paying up his bills when he overstayed the first day?
Based on the information from the police to the family, Joshua said he was paid to murder Mrs Feyisayo Obot. Who paid him? Does the Police know? We haven’t been informed.
We are appreciative of the efforts and speedy response of the Nigerian Police and will continue to cooperate with them as they work on this case but it remains key to set the records straight as regards the investigation so far.
For the family
Parents of a US military cadet who died last month want to save his sperm in order to continue his legacy and family's lineage
A cadet at the US Military Academy sustained fatal injuries in a ski accident last month and a few days later, a state Supreme Court judge granted his parents' petition to save their son's sperm in order to continue his legacy and their family lineage.
21-year-old Peter Zhu was found unresponsive on a ski slope on the academy grounds in upstate New York on February 23, according to a school news release. He was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center, where doctors determined that Zhu's spinal cord was fractured, and he was declared medically brain-dead three days later.
Zhu's parents, Yongmin and Monica Zhu of Concord, California, filed a petition Friday morning, pleading with the court to allow the hospital to proceed with a sperm retrieval procedure on their son's body. He always wanted to live on a ranch and raise a family and have horses, his parents said in in their petition and he is the only male child to continue the Zhu family lineage.
His parents attribute this mostly to China's "one-child" policy, which forced his uncles to each have only one daughter, the petition says. "This is our one and only chance of fulfilling Peter's wishes and preserving his incredible legacy," the petition says.
Westchester Medical Center doctors were hesitant but willing to perform the procedure if the family could get a court to authorize it, according to the petition. The medical workers were "extremely kind and understanding," it says.
New York Supreme Court Judge John Colangelo granted the request two hours after it was filed Friday morning. Colangelo's motion said the reproductive material should be stored at a sperm bank or other facility of the family's choosing until the court could conclusively decide on the matter.

Bobrisky bodly calls out Toyin Lawani and drags her kids into it
For a while now, Bobrisky has been throwing shades at his former friend turned enemy Toyin Lawani, but this time, he called her out directly and even dragged her kids into it.
The crossdresser earlier shaded Toyin Lawani as she celebrated her birthday last week. He called her broke and said she was asking for donations to celebrate. But Toyin ignored him.
Then, Bobrisky decided to go for the jugular by involving her kids, Tiannah and Tenor, in their beef.
Bobrisky did this while calling out one of Toyin Lawani's models (read here) who called him out for disrespecting the serial entrepreneur.
The model, Johntel Peters aka Official Black Barbie, said Bobrisky was thrown out of Toyin Lawani's company with security guards. He also said that Bobrisky's horrible body odour was affecting Toyin's clothes. He added that Toyin Lawani was trying to help Bobrisky's life and was even feeding him. He also accused the crossdresser of being a liar
In reaction, Bobrisky called out. not only the young man, but also his boss.
Sharing a photo of the young man, Bobrisky wrote:
See how ugly he look here. Tell your mother toyin lawanni to come for me. You are freaking too small for trust me.
Since your mother want another episode of dis fight am ready for dis. Do I have to blame dis dirty looking rat?
Since toyin now wear you wigs and gowns y won’t you open your dirty mouth to tell me she made me. Toyin Lawanni can never wear wig or cloth on her son but she feel comfortable wearing it on other people sons which is not my business .
Like I said earlier I don’t have issues with you I have fight with your mother with different babies from different father !!!!!
Rubbish if your mother wasn’t broke wat took her all the months to refund my money. You all must be crazy.
In another post, Bobrisky wrote:
Just imagine !!!! Dis over dried body like Fulani sugar cane.
I don’t have business with you. I have issues with your mother aka TOYIN LAWANNI.
Did your mother told you her story at all? I think you need to go and sit her down to tell you more about her own miserable life before lecturing you with others.
Incase she is going to Abuja again dis time around have kept enough evidence against her. To make it easier let me tag @nigeriapoliceforce to see dis. you don’t start a battle with who you cannot handle!
The last time your mother went to the police she was told no case. Because all her lies on me nothing was traceable. You all think is easy to forgive those expensive lies . Now she is sending dis dry body like k leg ? to me. Come for me I will come for your mother !!!!!
